Ingredients for Smoothie mit Mango

Mangoes – The star of the smoothie. Gives the smoothie a nice tropical flavor and is perfect as a base. I used frozen as that is what I had on hand, but fresh would also be good.

Banana – should be ripe without being bad. Adds natural sweetness to the smoothie.

Raspberries – Fresh or frozen should work. Give the smoothie a beautiful pink hue and and some tanginess that complements the sweetness of the mango.

Heavy Whipping Cream – I used heavy cream. Half and Half would work too if you want a bit less fat in the smoothie. (We don’t have Half and Half in Germany, so heavy cream is what I use).

Instructions for Mango Smoothie

Begin by placing the frozen mango chunks into your blender. I have a small smoothie blender that I use for my blending needs. It’s not very powerful, so I have to let my frozen fruits stand a bit before blending.

You can add the heavy cream right away with all the fruit, or add once the fruit has been blended. If using a bigger blending, adding everything at once is fine. With small blenders, sometimes you have to blend the fruit first, before it all fits together.

Depending on your desired consistency, you can adjust the amount of cream or add a bit of water or milk to thin it the smoothie slightly.

Once all the ingredients are in the blender, blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. If needed, stop and scrape down the sides to ensure everything is evenly blended.

Taste the smoothie, and if you prefer it sweeter, you can add a touch of honey or a sweetener of your choice.

Pour the finished smoothie into a drinking glass and enjoy immediately. My glasses can fit almost exactly 1 cup worth of liquid so they are perfect for this recipe. Linking to similar above.

How to Store Mango Smoothie

This (and any) smoothie is best served fresh. With that said, if you have some leftovers, store them in a covered container in the fridge. My blender has lids that come with it and can be screwed on the blending container so I don’t have to use any additional containers for storage. Store up to 1 day. You might need to stir the leftover smoothie a bit before enjoying.
